Celebrate 20 years of the blues as OREGON ART BEAT goes behind the scenes of the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland. Tune in to the stations of Oregon Public Broadcasting on Thursday, July 3 at 8pm and Sunday, July 6 at 2am and 6pm to learn more about the history of this event and its producer, the Oregon Food Bank.

Ron Rogers made music for most of his career in Texas and Los Angeles. Now he makes striking icons of blues, R&B and jazz musicians who have passed on. Some are small caskets, celebrating their lives and decorated with Ron's portraits of the musicians.

There’s a surprising Hawaiian connection in the central Oregon town of Bend and the key to it may be Bill Keale. He's been voted most popular singer in Bend three years running! His beautiful voice is no surprise when you learn his family history. This shy man now is looking to share his talent with a larger audience.

Video clips of the stories featured on ART BEAT can be viewed online immediately following the broadcast at www.opb.org/programs/artbeat.
