During World War I, the Ottoman Turks carried out one of the largest genocides in the world's history. The International Association of Genocide Scholars affirms the number of Armenian deaths was over one million. This program shares this largely untold story telling what happened and why. It also explains why, to this day, the Turkish government denies the Armenian Genocide took place. The documentary features extensive never-before-seen footage. Julianna Margulies narrates; historical narrations are provided by Ed Harris, Natalie Portman, Laura Linney and Orlando Bloom.
Funding in part for THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE was provided by John and Judy Bedrosian, The Lincy Foundation, The Avanessians Family Foundation, and The Manoogian-Simone Foundation.
